2009 Smart Passion Cabrio

2009 Smart Passion Cabrio
Price: $9,500
Location: Salem, Oregon

Description: Fully equipped with brake system, electrical connections and tow bar perfect tow car for smaller RV or couple traveling without children. If you are not familiar with smart cars they have many advantages not found in other small cars. Smart cars have a standard transmission with a computer controlled clutch so they drive like and automatic. You can tow 4 wheels down without the need for a lubrication system or stopping frequently to start the tow car to protect the transmission. For those who find a need to drive like a normal standard transmission this car has paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

A smart looks small from the outside but are very roomy and comfortable on the inside with plenty of head and leg room. They sit higher than other small cars and are easier to get in and out of. There is plenty of storage in back. I can carry my electric travel scooter in this car. There is plenty of room for a golf bag or two or three suitcases in the back. This car has all the modern options. Power steering, power windows, power door locks with remote entry, power mirrors. Power top that can be opened and closed at any speed. Rain sensor wipers. Radio/cd with aux input. Air conditioning. Heated leather seats. I could only post 3 pictures here but if you would like to see more pictures of smart cars you can go to any one of the major sites selling cars.

This car has only 33,000 miles and is in near perfect condition. The 30,000 mile service was done by smart car of Portland. I would guess you are thinking “if it’s so great why are you selling it” Fair question. I bought this car after extensive research trying to find something I could tow comfortably behind my Class B RV. Problem was I cannot drive a normal standard transmission. No other car this small with an automatic can be fitted to tow 4 wheels down. After I had the car for a few months I liked it so much it became my daily driver and I sold my Sebring convertible. I have now moved up to a newer model with a few more options I wanted in my daily driver that will also be my new tow car. The braking system is an Invisabrake installed by Roadmaster in Vancouver, WA. The tow bar is a Falcon 2 also made by Roadmaster. All you will need is a sensor light installed to tell you when the brakes are being applied in the towcar.
